As will probably be the case with the next several entries, there are not too many changes to note. Steve is still breathing on his own, but because of the secretions in his lungs, a result of the pneumonia, he is not able to be off the ventilator yet. This is something we are just going to have to wait out until he is able to do things such as cough on command. He continues to watch people and move his eyes about the room. And watch football.
We ask for continued prayer for the healing of his lungs, and also that the family can stay positive and patient. Even though we have many reasons to be hopeful, it just gets very tough at the end of the day.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -Isaiah 40:30

Hello,
Although you do not know us, I wanted to write you to let you know that we have and will continue to hold Steve up in pray to our Father. Amber Wiard is a precious friend of ours and as soon as she let us know about Steve, we began praying for him. I will not even pretend to know what you all must be going through, but I know that nothing catches God by surprise and what Satan means for harm God will use for good. We also pray that you'll take comfort in the knowledge that Steve is in the hands of THE GREAT PHYSICIAN. He will not leave him for one second. Please know that people everywhere are carrying Steve's name to the Father regularly. We consider this an honor and know God is ever faithful.

My dear friends,
I continue to pray for each of you for endurance during this long run. Do not be discouraged as the lungs take a very long time to heal and it will be a while until the x-ray starts to show signs of healing. Asperating is very dangerous and it is a blessing that Steve is doing so well!
God is faithful to His servants! Glory and mercy abounding!
You are in my heart and prayers,
Sharon
Your brothers and sisters in Abilene, TX are also praying for you and Steve. I'm glad he's making some progress. I'm afraid this will be a true test of your patience and faith. Just know that even complete strangers are here for you, backing you up every step of the way.
